Meet Janet Krones, RYT 500 Hr

img_0943Janet lived for most of her adult life in Frederick, MD. She attended her first yoga class in 2001 there, at a time in her life when she was a competitive endurance athlete. Over the succeeding years the practice of yoga became more and more intriguing and important and the running, biking, and swimming naturally fell by the wayside. In 2010 Janet received her 200 RYT at Sol Yoga in Frederick, MD and in 2013 her 500 RYT at the Kripalu Center. At the end of 2013, after her youngest of four children graduated college, Janet sold her house and her car, put a backpack on her back, and traveled the world for the better part of 18 months. During those months she attended numerous yoga workshops and retreats, including a month-long Hatha yoga intensive in Nepal and an Ashtanga/Vinyasa flow retreat in France, as well as numerous other trainings with international teachers such as Megan Currie, Vari Morales, and Sianna Sherman. After returning back to Maryland in 2015 to attend the wedding of her oldest daughter, she eventually moved to Worcester to be close to family.

Throughout the years, Janet has learned that yoga, like all things in life, is a process, one that requires patience and commitment, and is about the breath and the way we lead our lives. She strongly believes that we do “have the power to choose, moment by moment, who and how we want to be in this world.” As such, she takes her committed daily yoga practice with her on all of her journeys in life, from the lovely confines of the yoga studio to the amazing expanse of the mountains and the seas, and brings joy, breath, and a sense of humility in a safe, instructional, and engaging manner to all of her classes.
