Meet Mandi Garrison, BA, E-RYT 500, YACEP, Reiki Master Teacher, CCH
Mandi was just a child when she tried her first yoga posture and has practiced for nearly 20 years. Her dedication and commitment to a yogic life began as a way to balance her fast-paced, career-driven lifestyle and to help relieve her anxiety. It was during this time that Central Mass Yoga & Wellness (CMYW) became her yoga home and refuge, and she has been at the studio ever since.
Mandi earned her 200-hour hatha teacher certification from CMYW and her 300-hour certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She has studied with many internationally renowned teachers over the years to deepen her experience of yoga philosophy and traditions. Her knowledge begins with the rich practices of Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Kundalini yoga — and expands to specialize in intuitive sequencing, seasonal yoga practices, yoga for special populations, and guiding pranayama, meditation and relaxation. She brings calming, intuitive instruction to her yoga teaching and often shares channeled insight and her highly requested singing voice.
Mandi’s yoga classes are an exploration into subtle energy and the spiritual benefits of movement practice. Her teaching styles are largely influenced by the tantric path — focusing on self-empowerment, embodiment, and aligning with the sacred pulse of creation and the natural rhythms of the universe. In addition to her yoga background, Mandi is a Reiki Master Teacher in Usui and Lightarian Reiki, a certified crystal healer, a trained and initiated priestess, a certified Lightarian AngelLinks facilitator, a Tarot reader/diviner, and an intuitive channel. She is also a student and practitioner of many holistic healing methods, including Ayurveda, aromatherapy, and herbalism.
While not on her yoga mat, Mandi is an avid reader, traveler, photographer, and nature lover who can often be seen with her hiking boots deep in the woods of North Central Massachusetts or in her country home with her husband, a library of books, and three lively black cats.
